Aprima and NIS-Systems Partner to Offer Electronic Health Record Solution to Practices in Jacksonville, Florida

November 10, 2009

Aprima Medical Software (originally iMedica), a leading developer of electronic health record (EHR) and practice management (PM) systems for medical practices, today announced a reseller agreement with NIS-Systems (Networking and Information Services, Inc.), a locally owned and operated medical office support and network video surveillance company in Orange Park, Florida. The agreement brings Aprimas award-winning EHR / PM software and NIS local tech support and IT expertise to Jacksonville area physicians.

In response to physician demand in our region, were now at the forefront by offering a proven solution to area medical practices,” said Shawn Johnson, President of NIS-Systems. When considering several EHR vendors, Aprima was the only solution that offered the full package — a flexible system loaded with built-in functionality. The partnership with Aprima enhances our service offerings to clients and future clients, especially those in the Jacksonville area, as they will benefit from local training and support. We are now a one-stop shop for doctors looking to start up or enhance a practice with the finest EHR and practice management healthcare technology available.”

NIS-Systems entered into the agreement after Johnson evaluated the Aprima solution with IT customer and practitioner, Dr. Gary C. Bernard, an Internal Medicine Specialist with Pointe Medical Services in Orange Park, FL. The initial attraction to Aprima was its billing and e-prescribing functionality, enhanced coding and the overall flexibility of the solution,” said Dr. Bernard. He added that his billing and receivables went up by 40 percent one month after implementation. Virtually all my paperwork had been eliminated — and that really sparked NIS-Systems interest in promoting and offering the Aprima EHR/PM software to local physicians.”

Aprimas product vision comes from its collaboration with its customers. Its single database underpins both the EHR and PM functionality, a design approach that speeds users through their day. The product respects providers individuality by using common problem pallets instead of rigid templates. This enables each person to practice according to his or her own protocols rather than being forced to conform to least common denominator standards found in template-based systems. It also eases product set up and adoption. Aprimas licensing plans make sense for everyone from solo rural practitioners to multi-specialty urban groups.

Our partnership with NIS-Systems will be a tremendous benefit to medical practices in the greater Jacksonville area seeking to integrate the various technologies required to effectively automate todays physician offices,” said Michael Nissenbaum, CEO of Aprima. As practices begin to take advantage of the stimulus funds, local resellers like NIS-Systems are key to helping avoid the inevitable log jam that will take place as physicians rush to implement EHR solutions in time to earn the entire government allotment.”

NIS-Systems offers additional information about the Aprima EHR and PM solution on its web site.
