It’s been awhile since I’ve totaled the number of certifications listed on the ONC Certified Health IT Product List. Since it’s a slow news day it seemed like a good time to pull out my trusty calculator and total them up once again.
We last did this back in mid-December and at that time the number of certifications issued was 187. The tally as of yesterday is 329, or an additional 142 in the past 31 business days. Put another way that’s nearly 5 certifications issued per day during that time frame. Any bets on what the final total will be?
Of the certifications issued to date 234 have been certified for use in ambulatory practices with the remaining 95 being classified for use in inpatient practices.
Unchanged from December is that all certifications are still being issued by only three ONC-ATCBs. Those three are CCHIT, the Drummond Group and InfoGard, Inc. The breakdown of certifications issued is below:
