I had the opportunity to spend some time with ClearPractice’s VP of Sales, Simon Lee while in Orlando at HIMSS. We spent most of that time talking about Nimble, their comprehensive EMR solution for the iPad platform. The Nimble interface is beautifully done and it’s obvious it was designed specifically for the iPad.
Their marketing materials take full advantage of the Nimble name with pages titled Be Nimble at the Office, Be Nimble at the Hospital and of course Be Nimble at Home.
It’s a well designed EMR app that is fully integrated with their ClearPractice EMR system. The app was released in the App Store on September 28, 2010.
Here’s the interview:
Steve – What devices will Nimble currently run on?
Simon – Nimble runs Native on the iPad (iOS) ClearPractice also has a separate App for the iPhone
Steve – Does Nimble require any of these devices?
Simon – Yes it requires the iPad , however it can also be run as a web app. on PC’s The Nimble app requires theClear Practice Web App to run the Practice management functionality within the business office.
Steve – What size practices can best utilize Nimble?
Simon – Practices of 1 to 15 practitioners are our target market but the product is fully scalable.
Steve – Are there specialists that can best utilize Nimble?
Simon – No. Specialties across the board are successfully using Nimble.
Steve – Is Nimble ONC/ATCB certified?
Simon – Yes. It’s the ClearPractice App that is certified and Nimble is the User Interface for ClearPractice on the iPad.
Steve – What are the different components of a complete Nimble system for a typical practice?
Simon – The product is modular but most practices run the full suite which includes the EMR, Practice Management,e-Prescribe, & patient Portal.
Steve – How many practices are currently utilizing Clear Practice using the Nimble app?
Simon – Between 150 – 200 practices.
Steve – Anything else we should know about Clear Practice and Nimble?
Simon - We’re currently focused on how to help ACO’s (accountable care organization) empower physicians and hospitals to better manage healthcare.
The Nimble app is available at no charge through the Apple App Store but to be fully functional it does require the ClearPractice EMR system.
