4medica, provider of the industry’s leading cloud software-as-a-service (SaaS) clinical integration platform, announced today that Amerinet, Inc. selected it as a healthcare IT connectivity supplier to the national group purchasing organization’s 2,729 hospital members. The agreement — effective immediately — enables hospitals and health systems to receive preferred pricing for 4Medica’s inpatient and ambulatory modular electronic health record (EHR) solutions to help them qualify for Stage 1 incentives for meaningful use of EHRs under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
“Healthcare IT connectivity is essential for improving the quality, safety and efficiency of care across a continuum, but affordability and interoperability have been major impediments to provider adoption,” said John Vinarsky, vice president of contracting for Executive Resources and Office Solutions. “Our partnership with 4Medica will allow many of our hospital members — with or without electronic health records — to rapidly and affordably exchange clinical information with their referring physicians. It also gives them the ability to qualify for ‘Meaningful Use’ incentives by giving them the core decision support and connectivity functionality outlined in the Stage 1 requirements.”
4medica’s Integrated Health Record (IHR) clinical integration solutions for hospitals and health systems integrate laboratory, imaging, pathology, e-prescribing and inpatient data from multiple sources into a single, patient-centric record. The company also provides inpatient and ambulatory web-based healthcare IT solutions for physicians, labs, radiology and pathology clinics, and care delivery organizations such as health information exchanges (HIEs).
“We are very pleased to partner with Amerinet as it strives to achieve better, safer and more efficient care in its member facilities,” said Oleg Bess, M.D., 4medica’s CEO and chairman. “We look forward to helping them achieve the compelling clinical, financial and operational benefits that more than 100 healthcare facilities are already realizing from our solutions.”
