Tuesday’s HIMSS12 Keynote will be given by Biz Stone, one of the co-founders of Twitter. Social media is certain to be a hot topic at HIMSS12 and who better to help to explain how it can be used to improve communication in healthcare than Mr. Stone.
For the past decade, Mr. Stone has been working on large scale projects that facilitate the open exchange of information starting with social networking and blogging service Xanga in 1999. In 2003, he moved to Google where he met and collaborated with Twitter co-founder Evan Williams. The pair would later exit the search company. Twitter was founded in 2007. Mr. Stone has published two books on the origins and social significance of our changing communication landscape and has lectured around the world on this subject as well as others including creativity, opportunity, and positive global change. In 2009, Mr. Stone was added to the Time 100, an annual list of the world’s most influential people.
