Today’s AHIMA convention schedule kicks off at 8:30 with a session titled “Dream Big: Creating the Future.” The session is described as follows:
AHIMA’s members must be recognized as leaders in the governance of health information. We must prepare ourselvesto be the best in this arena and we must take action to make it happen. Hear from AHIMA’s 2012 Board Chairman/President and AHIMA’s CEO about what the Association has accomplished since our last annual meeting, how AHIMA is investing resources to help your individual career dreams come true and learn about the stories of four AHIMA members whos real-world experience reflects the direction of our profession.
Session 2, which begins at 10:45 and runs through 11:30, is titled “Healthcare Leadership: Thoughts from My Foxhole” and will be lead by Major General David Rubenstein. He’ll be presenting an interactive dialogue that leads participants to consider the leadership development of themselves and their teammates, and to apply tools that address leader and mentor development.
The exhibit hall will be open today from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm.
