Today’s AHIMA convention schedule kicks off at 8:30 with a session led by Will Yu, Senior Advisor, Innovation, City and County of San Francisco titled “What Pirates Can Teach Us About Revolutionizing Healthcare through Innovation.” The session is described as follows:
Mr. Yu will share his insight on theefforts to develop innovative healthcare. As a professional, Yu has led nationwide healthcare innovation efforts for the US through the Department of Health and Human Services. He headed several innovation grant programs and created the “Investing in Innovations”program, i2, which utilizes prizes and challenges to spur early stage innovations and community building.
From 10:15 through 11:30 Incoming AHIMA President Kathleen Frawley will address the gathering followed by a session led by John W. Kenagy, MD, MPA, ScD, FACS and Author. The session is titled “Designed to Adapt: Building Success and Innovation in 21st Century Healthcare. This session is described as follows:
“Thriving in 21st Century healthcare means providing more and better careand continually lowering cost. You can’tbuy that; you have to make it.”
